چکیده

Abstract This paper focuses on gaining new knowledge through observation, qualitative analytics, and cross-modal fusion of rich multi-layered conversational features expressed during multiparty discourse. The outlined research stems from the theory that speech co-speech gestures originate same representation; however, representation is not solely limited to production process. Thus, nature how information conveyed by synchronously fusing must be investigated in detail. Therefore, this introduces an integrated annotation scheme methodology which opens opportunity study verbal (i.e., speech) non-verbal visual cues with a communicative intent) components independently, still interconnected over common timeline. To analyse interaction between linguistic, paralinguistic, discourse help improve natural language generation embodied agents, high-quality multimodal corpus, consisting several layers spanning syntax, POS, dialogue acts, markers, sentiment, emotions, behaviour, gesture units was built represented It first its kind for Slovenian language. Moreover, detailed case studies show tendency metadiscourse coincide behaviour non-propositional origin. analysis further highlights newly created model corresponding information-rich consistent corpus can exploited deepen understanding

Towards a Representation for Understanding the Structure of Multiparty Conversations

Dialog is a crucially important mode of communication. Understanding its structure is vital to a great number of technological innovations. Within the domain of meeting dialog applications alone, there is a need for navigating, summarizing, and extracting action items in recorded meetings and automated facilitation of meetings. These efforts, however, are hampered by a lack of agreement on how ...

Understanding the Interaction between Interests, Conversations and Friendships in Facebook

In this paper, we explore salient questions about user interests, conversations and friendships in the Facebook social network, using a novel latent space model that integrates several data types. A key challenge of studying Facebook’s data is the wide range of data modalities such as text, network links, and categorical labels. Our latent space model seamlessly combines all three data modaliti...

Facilitating a description of intercultural conversations: the Hong Kong Corpus of Conversational English

The relative difficulty with which spoken corpora can be compiled by the researcher compared with written discourses, coupled with the time needed to fully transcribe spoken data, to say nothing of the additional expenses involved, inevitably has made large spoken corpora a far rarer entity than written corpora. And yet, if we are to further unravel the intricacies of spoken discourse, we need ...

A Typed Model for Multiparty Conversations

We present a type theory for analyzing concurrent multiparty interactions asfound in service-oriented computing, using the Conversation Calculus as under-lying model. Our theory introduces a novel and flexible type structure, able touniformly describe both the internal and the interface behavior of systems, re-ferred respectively as choreographies and contracts in web-services t...

Investigating privacy-sensitive features for speech detection in multiparty conversations

We investigate four different privacy-sensitive features, namely energy, zero crossing rate, spectral flatness, and kurtosis, for speech detection in multiparty conversations. We liken this scenario to a meeting room and define our datasets and annotations accordingly. The temporal context of these features is modeled. With no temporal context, energy is the best performing single feature. But ...
